Golden Text: II chronicles 13:10

But as for us, the LORD is our God, and we have not forsaken
him; and the priests, which minister unto the LORD, are the sons of
Aaron, and the Levites wait upon their business:

Responsive Reading: psalm 131:1-3

1 Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I
exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
2 Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is
weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.
3 Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.

(1) luke 18:35-43
35 And it came to pass, that as he was come nigh unto Jericho, a
certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
36 And hearing the multitude pass by, he asked what it meant.
37 And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by.
38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on
39 And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his
peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy
on me.
40 And Jesus stood, and commanded him to be brought unto him: and
when he was come near, he asked him,
41 Saying, What wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said,
Lord, that I may receive my sight.
42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved
43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him,
glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise
unto God.

(2) matthew 11:1-6
1 And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding
his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and to preach in
their cities.
2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he
sent two of his disciples,
3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look
for another?
4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and show John again those
things which ye do hear and see:
5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are
cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor
have the gospel preached to them.
6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

(3) isaiah 49:8-13
8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee,
and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve
thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the
earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;
9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that
are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and
their pastures shall be in all high places.
10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun
smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by
the springs of water shall he guide them.
11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be
12 Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north
and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.
13 Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into
singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and
will have mercy upon his afflicted.

(4) ezekiel 38:9
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a
cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people
with thee.

(5) psalm 90:2-12
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst
formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to
everlasting, thou art God.
3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children
of men.
4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it
is past, and as a watch in the night.
5 Thou carriest them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in
the morning they are like grass which groweth up.
6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up; in the evening it
is cut down, and withereth.
7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we
8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret sins in the
light of thy countenance.
9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our
years as a tale that is told.
10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by
reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength
labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.
11 Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy
fear, so is thy wrath.
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts
unto wisdom.

(6) matthew 23:19
19 Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the
altar that sanctifieth the gift?

(1) 271:7-10
Jesus instructed his disciples whereby to heal the sick
through Mind instead of matter. He knew that the phi-
9 losophy, Science, and proof of Christianity were in Truth,
casting out all inharmony.

(2) 418:5-11
Stick to the truth of being in contradistinction to the
6 error that life, substance, or intelligence can be in matter.
Plead with an honest conviction of truth and Christian
a clear perception of the unchanging, unerr- pleading
9 ing, and certain effect of divine Science. Then, if your
fidelity is half equal to the truth of your plea, you will
heal the sick.

(3) 447:1-27
1 The heavenly law is broken by trespassing upon
man’s individual right of self-government. We have no
3 authority in Christian Science and no moral No trespass
right to attempt to influence the thoughts of on human
others, except it be to benefit them. In men- rights
6 tal practice you must not forget that erring human opin-
ions, conflicting selfish motives, and ignorant attempts
to do good may render you incapable of knowing or
9 judging accurately the need of your fellow-men. There-
fore the rule is, heal the sick when called upon for aid,
and save the victims of the mental assassins.
12 Ignorance, subtlety, or false charity does not for-
ever conceal error; evil will in time disclose and pun-
ish itself. The recuperative action of the Expose sin
15 system, when mentally sustained by Truth, without be-
goes on naturally. When sin or sickness – lieving in it
the reverse of harmony – seems true to material sense,
18 impart without frightening or discouraging the pa-
tient the truth and spiritual understanding, which de-
stroy disease. Expose and denounce the claims of
21 evil and disease in all their forms, but realize no
reality in them. A sinner is not reformed merely
by assuring him that he cannot be a sinner because
24 there is no sin. To put down the claim of sin,
you must detect it, remove the mask, point out the
illusion, and thus get the victory over sin and so prove
27 its unreality.

(4) 316:12-23
12 Jesus represented Christ, the true idea of God. Hence
the warfare between this spiritual idea and perfunctory
religion, between spiritual clear-sightedness Spiritual
15 and the blindness of popular belief, which led government
to the conclusion that the spiritual idea could be killed
by crucifying the flesh. The Christ-idea, or the Christ-
18 man, rose higher to human view because of the crucifixion,
and thus proved that truth was the master of death.
Christ presents the indestructible man, whom Spirit cre-
21 ates, constitutes, and governs. Christ illustrates that
blending with God, his divine Principle, which gives man
dominion over all the earth.

(5) 166:15-22
15 The erring human mind is inharmonious in itself.
From it arises the inharmonious body. To ignore
God as of little use in sickness is a mistake. Health from
18 Instead of thrusting Him aside in times of reliance on
bodily trouble, and waiting for the hour of spirituality
strength in which to acknowledge Him, we should learn
21 that He can do all things for us in sickness as in

(6) 116:1
1 Third Degree : Understanding.
